New Years' pre-resolution

Other things being equal:

When any blogger uses the word "impact" as a verb, not referring to a tooth or a colon, I will comment "Eww."

I started with Challies. It won't matter in this particular case, because his monitor doesn't display anything I write, at any site.

But, by golly, I'll know.

Then, when I've succeeded in putting and end to this baneful practice, I'll have to think of something to do about people who chew gum.

In church, for starters.

Oy!

Let me know how your effort to impact the church in this area goes...

...You can just turn around and tell me next Sunday: I'll be sitting in the pew behind you, chewing a big wad of Bubbleicious.

At least it's a fish and not a meatchub. Don't think I could lift one of those...

its, it's now this...I still don't know the difference (ha ha)...maybe this isn't impacting me the way you intended...

Dan, can I get in on this one?

I have a huge list of lingo/trendo/faddish/words I'm sending out to spam-friendly sites to ask for signatures on a petition to BAN forever, from the vocubulary of evangelicals.

I'll send you the list later, and hope to see your sig on the petition.

When I was a young girl, my mother told me this: "Chewing gum is something a girl does in the privacy of her bedroom." My mother did not consider chewing gum to be particularly lady-like. As a result, gum chewing has never been part of my life. Now, one of the things that I dislike the most is cracking gum. Our pastor's son does it and when he does it, I give him a really hard time. In church or out of church, it really bugs me.

Kim, your mother sounds like a wonderful woman.

Carla -- "spam-friendly sites." What are you saying?

Tom and Even -- eww.

While you're at it do you think you can do something about "I really felt"?

Like, "I really felt 'led of the Lord' to buy this [insert shiny thing here]."

I think water balloon guns are the answer I'm just having trouble with implementation.

I'm pondering taking on the entire expression in an upcoming Pyro post.

Alright, you're being consistent. I just needed to be sure that when you said "any blogger" you meant "ANY blogger."

Please do. I am so weary of hearing that from people who ought to know better.
