Demon dog

Don't have time for either breadth or depth, just this.

Our church held an Easter Sunrise Service in a park near the church building. Everything went nicely, except....

When the pastor started preaching, this nearby dog started periodically screamyelpbarkhowling. It wasn't exactly a bark, a yelp, a howl; it was the most distracting it could be.

And it kept it up through the whole sermon. Soon as he stopped, it stopped.

Didn't do it through the singing, the reading, the very brief announcements. Just the sermon.

Demon dog.

Well, for future services, in addition to praying that the Lord manifests Himself and that He draws sinners and converts' hard hearts and that He makes Himself known in the assembly, I will pray that demon dogs will be rebuked (or bring a Terminator to do the job) :=)

Just bring a big roast of beef and throw it to the dog just before the sermon. He will be so busy eating he will not have time to bark.

Exodus 11:7a But not a dog shall growl against any of the people of Israel

Psalm 22:20 Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog!

I thought Mike was joking, but the Scriptures actually say that...

Perhaps the pastor should have asked those who were gather for the Sunrise Service to sing softly while he preached!

Ahhh...something resembling an Easter Service! Here, in Costa Rica, things are so far removed from what the Catholic church celebrates, Good Friday and Easter Sunday aren't even really mentioned in the Protestant churches...sigh...so, of course, after listening to a fairly dull sermon at church, we did our own thing :-) It was a good day!

In the line of the congregation singing quietly while the pastor preaches, maybe he should speak to a cantor and learn how to deliver his sermon in that sing/song voice they use for reading the scripture.

I wouldn't dismiss the possibility that some animals are adversely affected by wireless signals.

That dog definitely sounds like it's possessed.
