A Muslim, son of Hamas leader — finds Jesus Christ

Praise God for some great news: the conversion of Mosab Hassan Yousef from Islam to Christ. We should pray for this young man's growth in Christ, for the effectiveness of his testimony, and for his physical safety.

I am concerned that the Evangelical community will be tempted to parade this guy around like a trophy.

I am concerned that his public profession will endanger his life.

"I am concerned that his public profession will endanger his life."

Given his background, I'm guessing that that's probably almost guaranteed. But surely the fact that Jesus' admonition in this regard is repeated in all FOUR gospels:

"For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it."

should we be praying more for his physical safety, or that we would have the same boldness for the gospel (and his safety)?

Well, whatever we pray for, I think that for God's will to be shown through whatever he chooses to do would be most important. Wisdom, courage, those are good things to pray for. Safety is an illusion, in my opinion.

If he (has he?) receives asylum in the US, he'll be a lot safer while he's here, and perhaps he can minister, or at least be a role model for Muslims in America. I have a feeling that eventually he might be drawn back across the globe.

Or, should we say that Jesus Christ found him, no? Thanks for the joyous news, Dan; great way to start my day.

Stan: I agree. The attention's broken men before. He should be left in peace and relative obscurity, for his own good.

Yousef: "...They can kill my body, but they can't kill my soul."

Mt 10:28, how cool is that. Look's like he'll be just fine.
