Very creative: "Her Morning Elegance," by Oren Lavie

This is the most creative, clever music video I've seen in a long time.

I ended up with a bunch of ads for seminary overlaid at the bottom of the video..

Them google fellas is smart.

Neat video btw.

Beautiful song, and amazing video. The last video I saw that was particularly artistic was "Soon We'll Be Found" by Australian singer Sia Furler, which made extensive use of shadow hand puppets (and sign language, which is something that, for one reason or another, I find beautiful).

It's a shame that more music videos don't take themselves seriously as art, but I suppose that would require more musicians who take themselves seriously as artists, and in today's culture those are few and far between.

You don't strike me as the type to be into music videos, so I enjoyed seeing this this morning. I agree, very creative video. Song wasn't bad either.

Now, David. Say it with me:

"Ec LEC tic"

I getcha Dan...I'm not stupid. I didn't think you'd post a rap video or something =) Although, seeing you shake a groove would be interesting.

The last really creative bit of pop culture I saw like that was not a video, but a TV commercial some 15 years ago or so, for a European (English?) home appliance manufacturer. I can't even remember the brand name now, but the brand's name ended in "on," and the hook was "And on and on with [brand name]on," with a time-lapse, rhythmic, cyclical movement of people in and out of a room, using the company's various appliances. It was amazingly well designed and executed. It's gotta be on YouTube somewhere, but I don't have the time or patience to search for it....

I agree it's very creative, I just love stop motion videos/animations but that video must have taken FOREVER to record.

Creative video, yes. I enjoyed watching it.

But boring music, IMHO.

And what's with the clickety-clickety stuff in the left ear only?
It wasn't until I ripped my headphones off to see why my computer was making such a racket that I realized it was part of the music.

You sound like my wife.

DJP said...

Wow, your wife has a really deep, resonant, masculine voice. Like James Earl Jones. Weird!

Mike Westfall said...

Heh.

Well, her voice isn't whiney, like mine.

Dan,
As you are a connoisseur of videos (especally spoofs of Star Wars), try this one (http://triablogue.blogspot.com/2009/02/darth-nader.html)--you'll love it.

Yes, I've seen that one, and it is good! Thanks.

Interesting that in a world of technowizardry and digitizing something as simple as as stop-motion can still be so engaging when done well.

And David, I don't know about Dan, but I don't think I'm the only faithful BibChr reader who doesn't love me some Lecrae now and then - Don't Waste Your Life makes for some really inspiring early morning workout music.

Yes, there is something to be said for old-school animation. This video proves it's not a completely lost art!

Neat! :)

And speaking of being creative and Star Wars parodies, I stumbled upon this the day Dan posted his Oingo Boingo favorites.

Since I'm in law enforcement, this is my favorite Star Wars spoof.
