Isn't evolution wonderful? — 6

It's been a while. Now... how did the first lot work this out? And pass it along to the next generation?

I think this:
O LORD, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
(Psalm 104:24)

Too many ants?

At least I didn't show Bear Grylls eating them.

:^P

Oh c'mon, Dan; that's an easy question for the wisdom of the evolutionist.

Once the ants figured out the need for a scent trail - which took millions of years, BTW - they then realized that they had to share that knowledge with future generations.

Sooooooo, over several more million years, they figured out how to encode that info into their genetic make-up so it would become instinctual.

Simple. Basic rules of need to survive giving rise to the ability to figure out how to.

/sarcasm off

Where's the part where they come up with some sort of super-chemical that eradicates all ants? :P

I was watching Nature on PBS several years back. Topic was dragonflies. The narrator said, “In 160 million years, the dragonfly has evolved into a marvel of engineering.”

I laughed for a solid 10 minutes.

"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, "He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS"

Stuff like this video, National Geographic specials, etc., must keep our Heavenly Father righteously laughing - anthropomorphically speaking - quite a bit!

I praise Him that, but for His transformative, saving grace, I'd be in the same Ship of Fools!

Speaking of evolution, watching the Emerg* Debate at Pyromaniacs I came to the conclusion that Tony Jones and Scot McKnight are sub-human bipeds. Or maybe they're just buffoons rather than baboons.

I absolutely love how these "scientists" come up with timeframes for evolution. 5 to 15 billion years ago...

Today, while I was making pancakes for my daughter, I wondered if Scientists use the same "science" to cook their food as they do when determining the timelines of nature. I'm sure 1/2 to 1 1/2 cups of water would have made the pankcakes just as scrumptious as the recipe's suggestion of 3/4 cup.

wow that was incredible! :D

So, if you are being invaded by ants, what you actually need is Anti-Ant-Scent Soap; GUARANTEED to clean away that nasty ant chemical trail.

Someone invent that please. I will buy a bottle.

Just before I left for church one sunday a group of ants were carrying a small centipede across the room, the last I saw them they were trying to get that thing up the computer desk...and I assumed their plan was to carry that thing up the wall and over the window that is next to my computer desk..and I can only imagine that they were successful cause when I came back the ants were gone and the centipede was nowhere to be seen...

@Rita M.:

They were prolly gonna send a picture via email of their prize to their friends and family, seeing as how they've evolved into the digital age.

Love this series.

Rita, I'd look around your computer desk just to make sure that there aren't any dehydrated insect remains.... :/

Susan no traces of the dead insect were found anywhere in the room or the desk :P
