Isn't evolution wonderful? — 9 (water-holding frog)

After a brief commercial, check this:

The usual questions. How did those the very first water-holding frogs figure out how to do that, so fast, before the first summer? How did they get it right the first time, or how many thousands of generations died while doing the lab-work? How did they mate with likeminded frogs? How did they train their children so fast and without language, while we have trouble showing ours how to use a fork and knife?

There is an alternate explanation I find more satisfying.
O LORD, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures
(Psalm 104:24)

Agreed.

Cool. Frogs are some of my favorites of God's creation. He really built an amazing variety of abilities into them.

My ankles are stiff after one night of sleep. Two years of hibernation in frog position?

Creation sings of His power and might.

That's easy. An early hominin wrote an instruction manual shortly after the frogs emerged from non-frogdom.

That's where they lost me in school. Way back (crank up the "Way-Back Machine") in the 1960s I was in elementary school and beginning to learn about evolution, I remember films talking about adaptation. Even as a kid I could see how illogical and crazy it was to think that any animal could "decide" to change in order to adapt to a changing environment. The light-bulb moment came when they tried to tell us that giraffes grew longer necks because the food close to the ground got scarce. Yeah, right!

Romans 1:18-22 comes to mind...

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

19because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

21For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,

Oh what great timing! I'm teaching in two weeks on the glory of God in creation and wanted some good "creature" examples to kick things off. Who needs Google when there's Bibchr! Thanks!

(And along with crediting the Source for the froggy, I'll be sure to credit the source for the video. :) )

Everybody knows that the frog evolved from a mud hibernating fish after 5 million, 10 million, or 1 billion years (based on the extensive fossil record).

Evidence of theistic evolution.

Dan,
Where are all the PNA trolls who have "evolution" tagged in their link feed? I mean, usually by 6 comments one of them has posted gushing remarks explaining to all us rubes how evolution is undeniable fact.

Fred,

Maybe it's because Dan has is now moderating comments? I was wondering about that, too.

It's because of you, 3GD.

People were talking!

But for the sovereign grace of our merciful, loving Heavenly Father, there go I; praise Him for giving me eyes to see His glory, in the heavens, and in the incredible variety and intricacies of His creation.

P.S. I kinda miss the administrator-deleted post from the usual un-wanted, yet still visiting troll (whose-name-shall-not-be-uttered), with the ensuing translation of his comment by our wordsmith host!

Hmm - how do you know that Psalm is functioning as an explanation?

In that it gives the missing interpretive grid. Things did not bump together and brilliantly form themselves by blind and random purposelessness. They were conceived and fashioned with wisdom, according to a comprehensive plan, by a vast mind with limitless ability.
