Nice.

But an image of Obama popped up just as the lyric, "Who will save this generation?" was being sung...

Sarcasm.

I was hoping they'd do it with the R.E.M. tune of "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)."

Sorry, child of the 80's/90's.

So I caught a "Get out of jail free" card when they got to the Reformation, and a picture of Locke from LOST (hence Locke, the philosopher?)...and the Temple furniture being carried off to Rome, but after 1066....

Cheeky and witty.

Man, it took me 8 weeks just to go through the reformation period with the community group classes.

I will do better next time.

What's the name of the original song/tune that this was adapted from?

The tune is very cool. Highly energetic and peppy.

"We Didn't Start the Fire," Billy Joel.

Sandman--how about a parody on "Losing My Religion"? The possibilities are endless....

I SO want to memorize that! Alas, my 40-something brain doesn't move that fast anymore : (

Awesome vid!

Thanks for the re-post... I made this video as a gift for our senior pastor after he finished a 21-week series on church history, so it reflects the topics he covered and of course isn't inclusive.

(And yes, the Obama shot was somewhat sarcastic. And there is a shot of the REM album cover at the very end, so at least a shoutout...)

Lyrics are here, if anyone wants them...http://quoththemaven.blogspot.com/2009/10/church-history-in-4-minutes-lyrics.html

Thanks all for your comments and again, for the repost!
