Now, this is just fun. Even though I'd never heard of an "Eigenharp" before.
Quite the instrument.

Very cool!
Hi-tech new instrument, for sure!
The reason you (and most, I'm sure) have never heard of this instrument is that it's brand new:
The Eigenharp is Alive!
The second video on the above site is a product demo - pretty amazing!
The two guys from your "Bond Theme" video are actually Eigenlabs "employees".
Great find!
"And that was a good one, wasn't it?"
Are you kidding me? That was at least 14.5 kinds of incredible.
At least.
That thing is like a self-contained discotheque! Fun at parties!
Woooooow.
Totally reminds me of that scene from Star Wars where the fish guys were playing things that looked kind of similar....
Racheal,
You too?!
But I wonder, how much they're actually playing and how much is sort of programmed in, like a "boom-chicka" beat on an electronic keyboard.
Julie
Can't EVEN compare to an accordian.
I had actually seen this instrument displayed some time back and sent the article to a friend of mine who is into Celtic music and likes odd instruments. But I had forgotten about it until Rachael reminded me of this post here. Fascinating. It will be interesting to see how well it sells. It's actually similar to a "Chapman Stick," albeit electronic with some other bells and whistles.
Musical instruments as high-tech as this make me wonder: What kind of music would the likes of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven have written had they gotten their hands on one of these??
It is indeed impressive...but not cheap.
