Happy Mother's Day

UPDATE: to be sure I'm clear, this is addressed to all my readers who are mothers!

I hope your little stinkers celebrate you, appropriately!

I never gave it a thought that our momma cats could appreciate mothers day. After all they are doing exactly what they were created to do - therefore they are perfectly glorifying their creator.

What a beautiful photo. What a wonderful God.

Thanks, Dan! My little stinker managed to sleep so late we had to wake him up for church! I got a quiet breakfast with my husband. Now THAT is a nice way to start the day :-)

We butchered a chicken and soaked fruit in chocolate.

Breakfast in bed, needed admonishment delivered from aforesaid bad to girls outdoing one another in showing honor leading to fighting, grumbling and complaining, followed by spontaneous repentance and restitution, quiet house in which to read and write uninterrupted for several hours, more time reading and writing at Barnes and Noble, followed by dinner with a dear older mom mentor which was neither prepared nor chopped into little pieces by myself.

Awesome day.

My "Muh" unexpectly passed away the Tuesday before Mother's Day 11 years ago...the dates/days of week align the same this calendar year as then(note that both son's birth years do, too...rabbit trail) so my day was another reflecting on following the Lord's footsteps and whether honoring my mother in those yesteryears and today in walk ~ and how abundantly blessed am I, too. We've been known to march to the "expected" though not always aligned with Hallmark's beat...buying up opportunities whenever/wherever(earthsuit life is short, you know?) and had a special outing the Sunday prior due to weekend travel needed to help husband transition from hotel to apartment in another state(job related). The first Mother's Day after the family was geographically together had me timely be at the front door to see a mama duck leading her charge across the front yard, down the curb but not able to make it up the median curb. A mum and young son traveling by car stopped, he jumped out using his jacket to round and scoop them up, watched them walk off the other side to scoop them up the next curb to be on their way.

Awesome how God reflectively orchestrates good in human relationships...in waterfowl with humans...even with felines and a babe of a different fur pattern and manner; you are dear to have shared that visual reminder with kind words that added smiles upon smiles to my day. God is good in all ways always! Sincerely grateful ~

Given how much strain there can be in parental relationships (including among us Christians, including me) and yet how fundamental those relationships are, no wonder there's a whole commandment governing such relationships.
