Don't miss these: 10/28/10

  • Who knew? Turns out Joy Behar (foul-mouthed liberal fool who evidently believes that illegals have the right to vote) is a terrific fund-raiser for Sharron Angle! Keep it up, Joy.
  • Perhaps we shouldn't be too hard on Joy. Apparently she's just following President "I Will Bring Us Together" Obama's orders.
  • In (what is hopefully) another death-knell for today's radical Dems, independents are breaking hard for the GOP.
  • And Obama? Appearing on a friendly comedian's TV show... and not doing that well with it.
  • Is it too much to hope that the facts will forever put to rest the notion that President Obama is anything other than the most deliberately, intentionally divisive president we've ever had?
  • Yeah, probably too much to hope. Sigh.
  • Meanwhile, in what strikes me as a political decision, the Alaska Supreme Court shows (to my mind) that it does not grasp the concept of "write-in candidate"...
  • ...unless they're planning on handing all voters an Alaska phone book.
  • Who said it? “If you want small government you should support the Democrats because we know how to do it.” Seriously, a public person actually said that. Hint: she or he would have to be completely without shame or conscience. That should give it away. Give up? Click. (HT The Corner.)
  • You know things are bad when one hundred billion dollars sounds low to me. Should be ninety-nine dekazillion.
  • And now, with almost giddy optimism, we have Human Events' political editor John Gizzi predicting that the Republicans will take the Senate. That is optimistic. But I personally factor in that I let my Human Events subscription lapse in the eighties/nineties, because I found them so relentlessly pessimistic. So, maybe....

If you worked in a picture of a cat this post could be a Political Hither and Thither.

I was wondering if your mood over the coming democolyps is dampened at all by this:

Ride a Moonbeam to the abyss

Do you have an escape plan?

Good thing I am alone in my shop. They say my laugh sounds like an evil cackle.

At the end of her rant, she said, "I'm YOU!" claiming solidarity with the audience.(?) I think she may be right.

Dan,

Poor Obama, so serious on Stewarts comedy show. It will be fun to see this happen more and more as people finally (hopefully) see this guy for who he really is.

Okay, I have to say something as a bit of a catharsis here. I saw that Jon Stewart called the sitting President "Dude." DUDE!! DUDE?!

Why does that make me want to cry? For real.

Seeing that woman's name makes my eyes bleed.

Without self-control I would probably throw a shoe at the TV, but I'm not to repay evil with evil. Then again, it's my TV and she wouldn't feel a thing.

Word verification: Naletai. This is my week for OT Jerusalem-phone book sounding names.

I was also interested in the implications of calling the President of the United States, "dude". I wonder if he felt belittled in a way. After all, he is more used to being called "Messiah". How the mighty are fallen (hopefully not to rise again).

I wouldn't call Angle's response of flowers to Behar as gracious, as some bloggers did. I think it was an intended sting to get under the skin of Behar...thank goodness for that. Please, please, please God...banish Behar to the land of third rate reality sitcoms...or even better...banish The View into the dusty vaults of bad shows like "My Favorite Martian" or something.

I thought that Angle's sending flowers to Behar was perfect. It was mocked Behar in a rather elegant fashion. I'd send her some Orbit gum the next time.

Whatever you think of Obama's handling of the economy, Peter Johnson's outrage at the "back seat" comment is ridiculous and while it may rouse the troops their hatred blinds them. "Shotgun" implies seating next to the driver. When did anyone sit next to a bus driver. It implies help with navigation. Those in the back seat of a car have less control over the route. If a black guy can't say the phrase "back seat" well that's just sad. And it wasn't having to sit in a back seat that so upset blacks in the south. It was having to give up those very back seats when white riders had filled up the white seats! Rosa parks was in a black designated seat. She stayed in it when the driver magically turned it into a white seat!
