...in which I give the Today Show its due

As you might guess, I'm no great fan of the Today Show. But wow, this is a work of art. What precision timing it took! Hokey smokes, and how many takes did they have to do?

Thanks to Al for the tip.

I'm still in the middle of watching the video (only seen a couple minutes of it so far) and am already totally disgusted with assault on my ears from the auto-tune abuse.

The song isn't the point.

Want precision?

especially start at 1:19

Much to the detriment of the choreography, the music MADE itself the point.

Now, off to the emergency room to get the ice picks removed from my eardrums...

Pretty impressive work...I wonder if it will make people watch. I'm at work around 6 AM central time, so that counts me out.

Word verification: extris...like this is the extris I get with the news on the Today Show?

Well, I doubt you could pay me to watch the Today Show even if I were home.

My point is just that this is a pretty impressive piece of conception and execution.

I’m not a fan of the show either Dan, but I gotta give em’ props… that was well done and fun to watch… thanks!

Now if I can just stop trying to move like them before I hurt myself. ;-)

So... overall... really corny... BUT, Brian Williams made it for me. Anytime I see him to funny (especially corny funny) it's always hilarious.

That was fun to watch and I bet fun for the people in it to make (sigh, an earworm I'm afraid). I did however, notice a total lack of diversity within the behind-the-scene folks.

Someone should report them!

WV: boukbou, very pleasurable to roll off one's tongue and an excellent name for a cat.

Not bad, but I like Shorewood High School's video much better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7TI-AJi2O8. That's some good work there.

You know, Alfred Hitchcock was the master of the long take, but in terms of the technical execution that must have been required, this takes the cake. The kudos should go to the camera operator, who really did all the heavy lifting!

I like how at 4:31, the "Overnight Producer" was wearing sunglasses and a bathrobe. (Does anyone remember Dr. Johnny Fever from WKRP in Cincinatti?)

That Shorewood High School video is backwards. Here is how it was actually filmed. Still in one long take, but obviously with post processing.

Wow Dan... is it just me or is this a tough crowd?

Who knew, but these "lipdubs" are actually a whole Internet phenomenon unto themselves.

There's a popular one from my alma mater, UVic (albeit in more than one take). I guess no one was studying that day.

Wow! That was a delight to watch! I'm impressed not only the timing and the choreography (although cheesy), but seeing all the police needed to pull it off. What a budget this "Today Show" must have! What is it, some kind of variety/reality entertainment show? ; )

Wonderfully fun and creative! We saw the broadcast and it made us all stop to watch for "what's next!"

I did suffer sympathy fatigue after running all over New York.
