John MacArthur will not really be in your kitchen. I think the disclaimer was my favorite part.

Absolutely. Not to be missed!

Very funny!

Actually, I don't think the man himself would mind being there. He looked right at home. Go Johnny Mac! [/term of endearment, no disrespect intended] :)

The disclaimer was my favorite part, too. So glad they cleared that up!

Pretty good ad.

I was actually in J. MacArthur's kitchen (30 years ago, trying to sell his house).

No deal.

:) That's terrific.

John proactively makes himself available to his college students. I once was so frustrated with a season of disagreement with my pastor Dad that I, on a desperate whim, went to John's secretary's office to see if he'd be at all willing to adjudicate. After all, John was and is one of my dad's (holy) idols. He'd listen to him, right? Remembering the incident now around fifteen years ago, I can't believe how presumptuous I was in asking him to arbitrate a parent/daughter dispute. But I still remember how patient and open he was, and totally willing to do it. He's the real thing.

Oh, and Susan, our favorite moniker for him was always "The Big Mac."

The kid in the Back to the Future t-shirt is now studying at TMS. He's a great guy, just got married, and is absolutely perfect for this role.

Great find, Dan!

Who's John MacArthur and what's he doing with my coffee cup?

BTW, I didn't notice the disclaimer until I read the comments (I stopped watching before it came up).

That was outstanding. I literally laughed out loud here in the office(lunch break!)...thanks a lot. I need to pass that along to some of my friends(think my mom would especially love it!)

John comes to my kitchen at GTY. The fridge and pantry is in the room where I work. Usually he is scrounging around for some bread to make toast before heading into the recording studio.

I remember once him hollering at me from across the room if there was any bread left so I went and found it for him. I told him there was butter and jam in the fridge if he wanted it. He stopped and said: "Butter?, Butter only adulterates the toast."

It was probably my first major disagreement with the man.

Wow.

"A Schism In the Kitchen," by Fred Butler.

That was funny. My favorite part (aside from the funny disclaimer) was when he pats the Bible on the counter top and says, "Look it up for yourself." That was great.

Rachael--LOL! :D

I remember years ago when I first heard a younger friend referring to Pastor John as "Johnny Mac". I looked at her and didn't quite know what to think. The more I hear him preach, however, the more I suspect that "Johnny Mac" probably wouldn't faze him too much. Not that I would call him that openly...oh wait...
