Oh, where is the teleprompter when you need one?

"Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela aren't threats because [their land mass is] small compared to Russia..." Now why didn't we think of that in the Vietnam War era?

As an asthma sufferer, I can say I have had many breathalyzers.

Wow...people pile on when it comes to Palin and Bachmann or any other conservative, but you don't hear much about this type of stuff. If people looked at how much of a bumbling oaf (who also walks like the most arrogant person in the world...just watch next time he walks up to a podium and see his strut) we have in office now, maybe they'd drop all of their fake concern over having somebody become President and make "absurd" claims.

11 to 10,000? That is off by three orders of magnitude.

Honestly, when it comes to gaffes, I could hardly care less. When someone's job frequently involves speaking so much, gaffes are going to happen. Words will be mispronounced, figures and dates will get mixed up, details will get confused, Spinal Tap will forget which city they're playing that night, especially when it's off-the-cuff speech. (When factual errors are in prepared remarks, or mistakes are repeated and never corrected, it's a much bigger deal.) The more you talk, the more often you'll misspeak. It happens, move on.

I don't care much about occasional gaffes. It's the constant lies, the two-faced hypocrisy, the horrible policies based on repeatedly-discredited farcical socioeconomic theories, and the altogether craptacular governance that matters. I can vote for someone who pronounces nuclear as 'nukyoolar' or forgets what year Andrew Jackson was elected president or something. I cannot vote for a leftist.

As I tend to avoid listening to presidents when they speak, I often miss out on all the fun. Thanks for this. It is more funny when it's someone I did not vote for.

@Trogdor: I agree, although I can't imagine myself making a gaffe where I said I had visited all 57 states.

Touche, Sir Aaron.

I'm with Trogdor, too.

I agree as well, but still it is hard to imagine confusing 11 deaths with 10,000. That is just plain insensitive to be able to speak in such a manner to where that is just an everyday "gaffe". I would hope that somebody elected President would understand the gravity of the situation there.

HAHAHAHAHA I've never heard the "uh uh uh an inhalator" comment.

The President see's dead people.

Bachmann did a good job responding. She pointed to her credentials and just moved on. If anything, she's learning from mistakes Palin made in dealing with the vicious MSM. So, far, I'm impressed with her.

Brace yourself… I’m about to defend Obama… what???? Huh??? Look… anyone that has read any of my Obama comments knows that I can’t stand the guy, but, I actually get the 57 state thing. He clearly thinks he has said 47, and people do that… even evil, dishonest, radical liberals. ;-) So I’m with trogdor, the gaffes don’t really bother me.

What does bother me is that the MSM makes a federal case out of it when a conservative does it (especially if it’s a woman) and not when a liberal does it. I couldn’t believe how much time Letterman spent on this the other night. I actually felt sorry for him because I think it made him look so small. But let’s fact it, he (and other libs) are afraid of her… and they should be!
