Thirteen signs your sermon isn't going well
Courtesy of Chris Brauns, author of the superb Unpacking Forgiveness, is Mike Wittmer's list of 13 signs a sermon isn't going well. I think my favorites are numbers 13, 4, 3 and 1.

14. Congregation lets out a hearty AMEN when you say the words "in conclusion."
That was good, but someone should do one from the point of view on the other side of the pulpit.
I know the sermon is going long …
… when the pastor starts talking so fast that I can barely get a thought in edgewise.
That was good. I have actually seen number 7 happen, with a guest preacher one time -- the phone rang, and he answered it.
WOW.
Sad to say, I have actually done # 10: "The congregation is filling in the blanks of your outline before you get there".
Number 11 is like so true for me.
I usually substitute "donkey."
My Pastor texted me during a sermon. In fairness to him, he says his phone was off at the time (and always is during the service)...but nonetheless I had a text from his phone!
I teased him by telling him I was going to start texting him questions in the middle of the sermon.
@Fred: You may not depart from the authorized version. If that word was good enough for the KJV translators, it ought to be good enough for you.
;)
Some of the commenters on that post make some worthwhile contributions to the list:
"Your elders are following their children’s example of coloring every “O” in the bulletin."
#1 is horribly funny! :D
(Actually, #2 is LOL as well....)
