Makes me think of Proverbs 22:29:
"Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men."
Marc Martel makes it look easy. He certainly seems worthy of the praise and attention for his talents. My greatest desire for him is that he would honor the Lord in what he does.
It was a tryout to be in a Queen tribute band--he won.
I actually am decent friends with Marc and if you haven't checked out his band "Downhere", you're missing out. They're tremendously talented and have put out several great albumns of serious Christian music.
They're not puritans or anything, but they also don't sing "Jesus is my girlfriend" songs. They recently called it quits after a decade, but their albums are all still available.
Marc will be someone to watch in the next while as he's got more talent than half of Hollywood and he's a committed evangelical Christian...not in the likes of Carrie Underwood. He's got a bible college degree and has some convictions.
