On top of all my other objections, a single sufficient reason why I would never recommend the NIV is its unforgivable capitulation to gender-neutering, particularly in its utterly gratuitous pluralizing of singulars. To say that it is "not as bad as the TNIV" is to praise by faint damn.

I have long held, that Zondervan has somehow lost focus on what they originally started. I fear that maybe their focus is how much money they can make, instead of promoting the word of God.
I used to use their Bible, but then I went back to the NASB.
