What the heck—is this for real!? It looks like a submerged bedroom or something.

My children made me watch this literally 5 times before they let me comment! What a wonderful mechanism! That shrimp is so toast! We actually read about the pistol crab in some children's magazine a year or so ago, so it was great to actually see on e in action. I'm wondering if the shipwreck these guys were filming in is of any significance?

Is it just me or do the shots of their submersible moving through the wreckage look entirely like a set?

I could totally go for some shrimp now...

LOL, Ginny -- you mean like maybe oppressed pistol crabs are banding together and targeting the marauding ships above?

Yeah, but be very careful as you approach them.

Obviusly the creature began by rubbibg its claws together so fast they caught on fire, and it evolved from there.....

Trinian, just what I was thinking. Even the graphic of the snapping jaw looked kind of hokey.

I don't doubt the marvel of God's creation. The earth sings his praises in its beauty. God's speech to Job out of the whirlwind is one of my favourite passages in the Bible. But this pistol crab is just weird. In a divinely created way.

Snapping jaw...snapping claw...whatever...

I've been called a "shrimp" a few times in my life. From now on, it's "Mr. Pistol Shrimp" to one and all!
