Ha! (Bible or Bard test)

The Bible or The Bard?

Score: 100% (10 out of 10)

...and, as you know, I'm not a KJVOer.

Your turn!

(NOTE: when you post your scores, please don't say which you missed!)

Once more: don't say which you missed! It's kind of like saying that a movie has a surprise ending.

Daryl, I just emailed you, but I think your Blogger email is defunct. Drop me a line, please!

Alas, alas, only 6 out of 10!!

Oh NASB, NASB, wherefore art thou?

As for the ones I got wrong, well, it was the four I answered inaccurately.
But, at least I scored right in line with the mean!

Wow. 90%. Wow.

5 out of 10.

That's why I just read more than I comment.

DJP said...

LOL; KJV's tricksy, and stylistically very similar to Shakespeare. Same era.

7 out of 10.

And I was an English major.

This stingeth. And stinketh.

Dan, you should challenge that young pup Nate B. to this quiz and see how he fares. He and I had a lot of the same professors.

8 out of 10 the first time. And 8 out of 10 the second time! A different 8. (Blush!)

7 out of 10. Give me that test with the ESV, and I get 10 out of 10.

Rachael Starke said...

Oh!! You can take it again?? Ha. Now it's on.

It pains me to admit to 8/10.

Apparently I have pride issues. Hunh. Who knew??

Who's this Bard guy anyway?

and I have no problem admitting I hate Shakespeare or anything else in tights!

8 out of 10 for me.

Jerry said...

80% here as well.

I will follow the lead of previous contributors and blame this poor performance on my long association with the NASB and recent conversion to ESV.

I say you have one up on us all because Proverbs is your thing.

Woot! 10/10.

Who needs English translations anyhow? :-)

Guessing counts right? 8/10

10/10.

And sorry if this seems pedantic, but Shakespeare quotes the Geneva Bible, not the KJV. :-)

Rebecca Stark said...

Weak.

and a tiny bit sour grapesy, too.

10/10. Though the KJV is the only version I've read over the last 7-8 years basically...

DJP said...

Well then, that's cheating.

9 out of 10, I guess I cheated as well since I only switched from reading the KJV (after 15 years) to the NKJV this past year.

80 % not bad for early morning :)

7 out of 10; could've done better...

I took it; my husband took it; we both missed one...the same one. When I was answering, I thought... wait isn't that in ________? But in order not to spoil the fun, I can't tell you where I thought the quote was from. Fun quiz.

8/10 - I guess I need to brush up on my Shakespeare...

9/10. Nice one, ibex scribe!

9 of 10. I will now hang my head in shame.

70%. better than average!

7 out of 10. Sadly, I was primarily a KJV girl before the ESV and I'm an English teacher with Shakespeare in 3 of my 4 curriculums. Blech!

Maybe I can use that score to aid my argument that we need to study more than just the tragedies from the Bard?

UinenMaia said...

My husband, who abhorred Shakespeare, got a 6 out of 10. However, he was an NIV guy before the ESV unless it was Genesis 1, Psalm 23, or the Christmas story from Luke.

Moon said...

I can't believe this, I got a 70%! I'm very disappointed...I knew that ESV wouldn't do me so good!! (kidding! :P)

9 out of 10.

I'm reading through Proverbs now, and the one I missed I'm pretty sure has something very close to it in there.

BTW, what bible did Handel use for Messiah?

Andrew D said...

9 out of 10.

Man and the one I missed was so easy that I thought it was a trick question!

Very fun though. Shakespeare is always amusing.

9 out of 10. Consolation prize, I guess, considering I didn't do so hot on that civil liberties test. (Yes, I took that one before I took the BorB? test.)

Susan said...

Oops, I meant to say the "civic literacy" test. Small wonder I did so badly on it! >:P
