McCain and Obama: their choices

Obama says:

Then comes the response:

Game, set, match.

First, clearly, Palin is still scoring hit after hit after hit.

Second, note how the Obama campaign is so counting on dirt-ignorant viewers whose impression of Palin is dictated by the MSM meme.

Readers of even just this blog are in a position to know much better.

One reason why I'm certain that an Obama-Reid-Pelosi triumvirate would target the internet, eventually, as well as other alternative media sources.

Do you really think America cares about Reverend Wright? They don't. I don't. I want to know what each guy is going to do to address the problems we face in this country. I have only been here a week or so and one thing I see is that all the political posts are aimed at denigrating Obama and Biden. Instead of talking about your candidate and what he will do you devote all your efforts to being negative. Why?

I went to the Obama rally today and I was impressed by the detailed plans he laid out. I saw McCain last week and he spent all his time slamming Obama and said little about what McCain would do as president. I also watched Obama on tv tonight and he spoke clearly about his plans. I then watched CNN interview John McCain and he spent the time complaining about Obama. I want him to tell me why I should vote FOR him, not against Obama.

The more McCain talks about Ayers, Khalid, or Wright, the less I like him.

Lt.Pratt. One is known by the company he keeps. Ayers, Khalid and Wright certainly do matter.

McCain's record speaks for itself. On the other hand, candy's right: Obama's associations speak for themselves.

I don't trust Obama. McCain, I trust.

Who ran against Hitler? Does anyone know if he focused on "the issues"? Seems like he should have focused on Hitler's (lack of) character and his earlier writings.

Obama is a devil (what else do you call an enthusiastic baby killer) with smooth words rolling off his tongue. Believe him at your own peril. Unfortunately, it will be to my peril too if the devil is elected. Hitler's destruction was not limited to those who voted for him.

And the philosophical worldviews Barry learned from these individuals tell us clearly by what principles he will govern to address those problems. That is why it is a big deal, and should be a big deal to you. That, and the fact you claim to be a believer and yet are seriously contemplating to vote for a radical pro-abortionist.

I don’t know if America cares. But they should. And you should.
Suppose John McCain spent most of his life under the pastoral care and mentorship of Fred Phelps and gave him the honors and high praises that Obama has given Wright? Suppose McCain had decades of friendship with an unrepentant abortion clinic bombing criminal organizer. Suppose McCain he attended campaign parties at the abortion clinic bomber's house and evidenced decades of partnership with this proud vocal terrorist?

I guess you have to say "I wouldn't care" to feign consistency.

I have only been here a week or so and one thing I see is that all the political posts are aimed at denigrating Obama and Biden.
That is because they lack character. The MSM won't expose this, so the truth-telling has to be done in alternative media. Are you reading the posts about the MSM bias or just opining in the comment sections? If you are reading the posts then it's hard to understand why something so obvious must be explained to you.

If you disagree about the MSM bias, then substantiate why. Please show everyone where these stories are given excellent MSM coverage.

Instead of talking about your candidate
I think Dan's made it abundantly clear that he is more "against Obama" than he is "for McCain". You're either not reading or you're blustering.

… and what he will do you devote all your efforts to being negative. Why?

Again, if you've been reading then this question is perplexing. Are you reading??? Dan believes that an Obama presidency combined with Pelosi, Reid will be a disaster on many levels. He is warning readers about the corruption of the MSM and their shameless bias in overage of this campaign. He is warning that an Obama presidency will lead to increasing rates of legalized infanticide. He believes that an Obama presidency would be a clear sign of judgment from God.

Wait, why am I putting words in Dan's mouth? He and others have been writing about these things for the last 6 months.

My guess is you don't like the content because it doesn't jive with some other agenda/idea you're already committed to. So instead of grappling with the content you don't like, you say "Why so negative?"

Besides all this, much of the posting has been supportive of Palin. And many of the posts have centered on defending Palin from the wrongheaded criticisms of Obama supporters. I'm looking at the last 2 weeks of posts and they are laden with Sarah Palin support.

I gave you a chance in previous comments but at this point I'm inclined to just skip over your comments since they rarely interact with what has been posted.

P.S. Still waiting for you to explain why you could vote Obama in light of his pro-infanticide position and his tremendous potential to increase baby murders during and after his presidency.

Andrew, thank you so much. You so well express some of the things I wanted to say that you've got me wondering if you're my more eloquent sock-puppet!

It's nuts at work, I may write more later, but it'll be "Everything Andrew said, plus this little bit."

Thanks.

Fred- you can stop the "claim to be a believer" nonsense. I know whom I have entrusted for my salvation. Funny thing is, I don't recall seeing that line about repent, believe, and vote republican in the Bible.

You guys ought to be brought up for church discipline for wrongly dividing the body of Christ and sowing dissension. The church is dysfunctional enough without your nonsense.

Andrew D said...

Do you recall reading anything about loyalty to Christ in the Bible?

Your willingness to elect a president committed to advancing the pro-abortion agenda calls your confession into question.

DJP said...

So you did read the "Repent" part? But your response to repeated, repeated, endlessly-repeated alerts to the fact that you're toying with the idea of enabling the most bloodily pro-infanticide candidate, ever?

Something definitely is not adding up.

And you want us to believe that you're so worried about "dividing" the body of Christ, but not so much about BEING FORCED TO PAY for "dividing" the bodies of millions of innocent babies?

Does not add up.

Fred Butler said...

I never claimed you weren't a believer. I meant to appeal to what I take as a conviction of faith with regards to the biblical teaching on the value of life. I justed assumed that if you have entrusted your salvation to our Christ then you take seriously His written revelation about life. This has nothing to do with party politics, but the fundamental worldview principles one particular candidate claims he will support.

Wrongly dividing the Body of Christ? Seriously? I see it as taking a stand against ungodly agendas that will bring great harm.

Lt. I get this nagging feeling that you are a plant. I could be wrong, but I continue to find it hard to believe that you and your wife are so involved in a Crisis Pregnancy Center, and yet you don't see the clarity in the issues stated. You actually seem more divisive than anybody on this blog. We all stand for the sanctity of life. You kick against the goads.

Lt. Pratt: Reading some of your post, I start to have severe case of déjà vu. That is because they look a lot like my post from earlier this year. I came into this blog talking up the benefits and virtues of Barack Obama, and how I planned on voting for him in my primary. Dan and others tried to show me the error in this, and I told them that one issue (abortion) shouldn't define who we vote for. I even stated that I would have a "clean conscience" if I voted for Obama. Dan kept on, and much like you, I commented on the general negativity towards Obama. However, something began to happen. I came to a realization that Dan and others were right. If a person claims to be a believer in Jesus Christ, everything they say and do should be done through the lens of the Scripture. Barack Obama states he is a Christian. The Bible clearly states that life is valuable, and starts at conception. Barack Obama supports ending life before it is born. He even stated that if one of his daughters made a mistake, he didn't want her "stuck with" a baby. Those were his words. As a believer in Jesus Christ and a father of two daughters, I realized that I could not support a candidate who held this view of life and of children. After this, I had a lot of apologizing to do, in particularly to Dan and others on this blog. But I am thankful that I do not have to apologize or regret voting for Barack Obama.

I am not going to tell you to vote for John McCain. I am not voting for him. I still have serious disagreements with McCain, Bush, and the Republicans in general. There are several other candidates for President that you can vote for (personally I am supporting Bob Barr). However, I urge you to not get drawn in by the fancy speeches, and they are simply empty words. You state that you are believer. I urge you then to go the Scriptures and see what it says about life and children. And then listen to Barack Obama talk about the abortion issue. If they do not line up with one another, you have your answer.

It may happen today, or tomorrow. It may happen on the way to the polling place next Tuesday. Or after you vote. But you will realize what a mistake it would be to vote for Barack Obama. I just pray that it occurs before you vote so that you don't have to regret your vote. Pray, Read, Vote, and then Pray some more!

Actually, it's even worse than you recall, Ricky.

He said he wouldn't want his daughters to be "punished" with a baby.

So just kill it. Doesn't matter how, to O: poison it, slice it up alive, let it die squirming on a table, deliver it to the head and then bore a hole in its living skull and suck its brains out.

O says, "It's all good."

Lieutenant Pratt said...

Ricky- Thanks. My conscience will be clean whether I vote for Obama or a 3rd party candidate. I have decided I cannot support McCain because I don't trust him, his judgment is terrible, and he might die and leave the unqualified Ms. Palin in charge. The only vote I have ever regretted in my life is that for George W. Bush. I know, DJP will now say I have PDS or BDS or some other DS. He's wrong but that's Ok because I been called worse.

Could you point me to those "clear" verses in the Bible that says life begins at conception? I'm not talking about the Jeremiah passage or the one where the six month old John jumps in the womb. I want the ones that specifically say life begins when egg and sperm combine.

Candy- I say wrongly dividing the body because you people think anyone who could support Obama on the belief that there are more pressing issues than abortion simply must be delusional, deceived, or just not a Christian. You are guilty of dividing the body of Christ along political lines. That shouldn't surprise anyone because the GOP has been dividing America along racial lines for decades. Republicans by nature are very divisive people. It took Obama to make me see that, even though I probably won't vote for him.

You all are deceived if you think John McCain or Sarah Palin will make one iota of difference in the fight against abortion. It will be those of us on the frontline talking to women, praying with them, and helping them find alternatives that will make the difference. You sit behind your computer screens. I'll keep making a difference one baby at a time.

Because of the suffering that your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the LORD your God has given you. Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children, and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating. It will be all he has left because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of all your cities. The most gentle and sensitive woman among you--so sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to touch the ground with the sole of her foot--will begrudge the husband she loves and her own son or daughter the afterbirth from her womb and the children she bears. For in her dire need she intends to eat them secretly because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of your cities. (Deuteronomy 28:53-57 TNIV)

At least the Israelites were starving when they killed their children to eat them. While disgusting and sinful, it's somewhat more understandable than killing one's children for no reason at all. In America we have plenty of food, money and time. Apparently we don't want to share any of it with our children. "Kill the baby," we say. "Just give me what is mine."

We also say "Kill the baby. Kill lots of babies. Let's use tax dollars to kill even more babies. But don't question my salvation."

[Sigh]...I'm confident you're going to understand this Justin, but I'll say it anyway. Before I do, I'm really perplexed that you cannot answer this question and yet you volunteer at Crisis Pregnancy Centers??

Life begins at conception because the human development of a child begins at conception.

Lt Pratt:I say wrongly dividing the body because you people think anyone who could support Obama on the belief that there are more pressing issues than abortion simply must be delusional, deceived, or just not a Christian.

Could you support a candidate who believed that whites were superior to blacks even if there were more pressing issues?

Lt. Pratt,
I want the ones that specifically say life begins when egg and sperm combine.

Do you know what life is? Do you really expect the Bible to have a verse that specifically say life begins when egg and sperm combine before you will believe it. Does the Bible specifically instruct us to not jump off of skyscrapers? Do you believe we shouldn't? Does the Bible specifically tell us to not murder people in automobiles?

The following passage shows that that which is conceived is considered to be a child prior to birth.

And Isaac prayed to the LORD for his wife, because she was barren. And the LORD granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived. The children struggled together within her, and she said, "If it is thus, why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquire of the LORD. (Genesis 25:21-22 ESV)

The following verse says that Elizabeth conceived a son not a something that would become a son at a later date.

And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. (Luke 1:36 ESV)

The following verse says that Rebekah conceived a children not a something that would become children at a later date.

And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, (Romans 9:10 ESV)

I usually have no interest in politics, however I have to wonder what colour the sky is for people like Lt. Pratt to simply gloss over the fact that Mr. Obama is a murderer with a desire for it. I'm 17 - I know girls who have committed abortions before God saved them and believe me, they wouldn't take too kindly to the smooth murder talk of Obama.

Why should your nation entrust itself into the hands of a man who has no respect for the future people of that nation? The fact remains - he wants to make abortions more readily available than ever, so what are the implications of that.

He doesn't value life as sacred and a gift of God - and Christians want to vote this guy in over the stupid economy??? What good is prosperity if you sanction infanticide to do it??? Lt. Pratt, you are selfish and quite frankly I have every reason to doubt your salvation
