It only hurts when I laugh.
Nice find Dan.
The cartoonist must have read John Maynard Keynes (pronounced "canes"). To quote from The General Theory of Employment(p. 129): "Pyramid-building, earthquakes, even wars may serve to increase wealth, if the education of our statesmen on the principles of the classical economics stands in the way of anything better." In other words, Keynesians believe that ANY increased government spending on anything will increase our national wealth and bring prosperity and happines to everybody. Sadly, those lunatics are now running the asylum (i.e. Washington, DC).
LOL
Artistic intent??
What does it matter what the artist intended?
I thought what was important was what it means to me.
And what this says to me is -
What a great argument this is. The pyramids are a major source of tourism revenue for Egypt today. Tour guides, camel rides, side trips to all those markets to spend more tourist dollars on rugs.
Look at that - stimulus works!
Plus we know how successful pyramid schemes are!
Well, I know this was meant for humor, but get ready for some real nasty times folks. There is little if any chance we'll grow out of this debt. If there were we would be need at levels of economic growth that we have not seen since the boom of the 80's when Ronald Reagan was President and the tech boom of the 90's. And even there, the percentage of debt of the GDP was much lower than it is now.
Seriously folks, get ready for some real nasty times and we thank RINO's like Snowe, Collins and what's his face in PA.
