Benchmark: .3 million

On 11/24/04 I entered blogdom with an essay titled THE least-heard marriage truth. I'm sure my blog was number 192384932874 out of 192384932874 blogs, and I probably started out with 3 visitors a day or something, not counting myself.

Now, several years (and over 800 posts) later, I get 333,385 visitors since I installed it. Makes this nobody pretty happy and grateful. Also, I have the great pleasure of blogging with Frank Turk and Phil Johnson over at Pyromaniacs. I've made new friends, been blessed with new opportunities, been humbled and encouraged, and had lots of fun. It's been a great blessing to me and my family. I thank God for it; and I thank you for reading.

Congrats!
BTW, did you mean .3 Million, or ⅓ Million?

I realize there is little difference, as you've hit both, except the timing of the post.

Squirrel- Have you thought of changing to "Dramatic Chipmunk"? (google image search the term to see why I chuckle a little every time you post)

Mr Wizzard,

Uh, I see... Hm... No! I think I'll stick with "squirrel." Although a chipmunk is just a sportssquirrel with racing stripes :-)

See Dan? Toldja you've got a pulpit already. ;)

Congrats, Dan. I'm sure a whole million is on its way shortly.

Squirrel: Is this a picture of you?

Mike,

I knew what I was getting into. I did, I did. Yup.

I think Dan meant 0.3 million--he did mention some 330,000+ readers in the article....

Congrats, Dan!

Congratulations, Dan.

What happens when you get your 777,777th visitor?

DJP said...

Um... rapture?

Mike Westfall said...

But before you get to 777,777 you have to go through 666,666.

There ya have it. Post-trib rapture.

@MM- That's why I trust the Bible for my eschatology, not the numerology of blogger.com. ;)

"See Dan? Toldja you've got a pulpit already. ;)" ---> I second that :D

"But before you get to 777,777 you have to go through 666,666. There ya have it. Post-trib rapture."--> I'm with ya Mesa Mike

Congrats Mr. Phillips! :D
We have all been very blessed with your posts and its been a privilege :)

Susan said...

Wait, MesaMike. If Jesus said he'd come at a time when no one is expecting him, your theory might backfire.

(Can you tell I lean toward pre-trib?)

Unless the 777,777 is refering to Pyro, in which case it already happened...OH NO!!!! PRETERISM!

Lol, just kidding.

WOOT!

My daughter taught me that word. I like it a lot and I have no idea how it would sound if verbalized, but it looks exciting in print and definitely fits this occasion.

Thanks, Dan. Keep up the good work!

Well, nothing happened when the 666th person visited.

And to think that Dan has a bigger "congregation" than Joel Olsteen does! Plus, Dan has slightly better theology than JO does.

(Runs away as fast as he can shouting, "Congratulations!")

Moon said...

well Gilbert nothing happened either when the 777th person visited...at least we are here still :P so there's hope for the 777,777th visitor and then the rapture... :P

333K is a pretty good number to reach on or about "Square Root Day" - 03/03/09!

Congratulations, and may I express a wish that you reach the number of visitors of which your current number is the square root.

RT: :)

Everyone else: :)

DJP said...

Thanks, everyone.

But of course, that number is made up of people like you.

Without you, I'd just be talking to myself. Where'd the fun be in that?

I actually enjoy the voices in my head, Dan - but to each his own. :) Bravo for the growing readership and the light you're shining from your hill!

I'm very grateful for both bibchr and Pyros. You have helped me understand and seek Truth, and in doing so you've helped me grow up.

Congrats! You have blessed and challenged us with many posts, and at other times have greatly amused us! Keep it up!

Congrats! And there's nothing wrong with an average of three visitors a day :)

I'm very tempted by this motto:

"Ticking people off on six continents since 2004!"

Stefan Ewing said...

If you really want to tick people off, your motto should be:

"Ticking people off on five continents and a glorified island chain since 2004!"

I jest. Australians are good folks.

In the everyday, non-Calvinistic sense of the word.

From #192384932874 to #9295 is quite an accomplishment, I'd say. :-)

Congratulations!
