The wisdom of humility, the mouth, Obama: study in contrasts

A female police officer was interviewed about Obama damning the Cambridge police as having acted stupidly.

She said she'd supported and voted for Obama, but would never do so again.

She further said that Obama should have said that he supports his friend Professor Gates, but "I don't have all the facts. So I'm not going to comment." Check it:

Ah. But that would have been the wisdom of humility.

If Barack Obama had possessed that quality, then 2+ years ago he would have said, "I have no qualifications and no achievements to prepare me to be President of the United States. Find someone who does."

Once you've deceived your way into that office, it would be awfully hard to resist the temptation to pose as instant-expert on everything.

Well said, that's one of the reasons I don't have a blog. ;)

For some reason I just watch that clip and want to go: "Go girl!"

It must be very difficult for a black woman to go against the crowd and stand by what she knows is right in this particular situation. She showed honor, class, and dignity.

Something Obama could learn.

Messiahs don't need to exercise humility.

It was nice to see a clip that gave the other side of the story. But the general tone of the MSM never ceases to amaze me.

O. tell me about it. Like the day after interview on the Today Show, or some MSM morning show, where Gates's daughter talked about the whole incident as if Bull Conner's thugs had beat her father into a hospital. The icing on the cake question by the fawning news anchor: "When did your father realize this was escalating into more than a routine questions by a police officer?"

Puleeze. "Duh, I don't know: maybe when Gates bad mouthed the cop's mother?"

Amen, JackW and Jay. What a great-sounding lady in every sense of the word.

Now wait to find out she hasn't paid her taxes or some such ridiculousness.

Oh, you know, Rachael, that's an excellent point.

If it stings The One, she'll have to go DOWN!

Hmmm... she could be a closet anti-abortionist!

DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN!

LOL

I'm picturing "Dramatic hamster" with the music.

...or a pro-lifer who had an abortion in her distant past!

I was so glad she spoke her mind. This whole episode had me chuckling (when I wasn't shaking my head). When they released the 911 call because people were labeling the caller as a rascist I chuckled. When the police force stood behind Crowley I chuckled. When it was discovered that a black officer was with Crowley and supported him I chuckled.I am kinda bummed that police officer Crowley is still going to have a beer with Obama and Gates. You know that Obama will use it as a PR moment.

Candy - I agree...I wish that Officer Crowley would have just said "Thanks, but no thanks" to the "Beer Summit" invitation. He is definitely in a weird spot/situation.

< shrug >

It could backfire in The One's face.
