Health care: they're from the government, and they're here to...

Liberals know best, says Brent Littlefield; which explains why they're grimly intent to ram government-controlled healthcare down the throats of an unwilling populace.

Hear that refrain in the words of Senator Cardin (D-Md.), when confronted by the overwhelming opposition of real live, in-person voters. What is his response, on finding that the people who he represents DO NOT WANT Obamacare?
"I'm more resolved than ever," Cardin, 65, said Thursday after his whirlwind week. "I love debating. I'm sorry more of that couldn't happen this week because of so much of the shouting, but I personally believe the American people still want us to deal with tough problems. We're not all going to agree, that's obvious, but we're at the point we need a specific bill"
Yep. You don't want it, I don't care, I know you need it, I'm more resolved than ever to ram it down your gullets, and by golly we need a bill NOW.

Right. Now, before the people get a chance to replace you, and dent the Demo-deathgrip on Washington.

But as Littlefield points out, some eighty-four percent of Americans are satisfied with the health care they receive right now, only 13 to 16 per cent are uncovered, and of that minority the third largest group are those who need it least: 18-29 year olds.

I know some people are saying that healthcare "reform" is dead. And given that the Obama administration is now going after Bush administration officials for enhanced interrogation techniques, that may be true because they need to distract the public of their failure to pass healthcare "reform".

But I'm not going to underestimate the demonicrats. The Senate could push something through the reconciliation process with just 51 votes. Let's hope that healthcare "reform" is dead.

You've seen Cash for Codgers, right?

If I were a betting man, I wouldn't be betting against the healthcare reform bill. When the rubber meets the road, the Democrats, blue dog or not, will vote with the party.

Also, cap and trade is sitting around too...that bill will devestate the economy. I live in Houston and some local people are talking about that bill being a death blow to the local economy.

I really wish the folks who got caught up in "making history" would have stopped to consider what it would mean for our future.

Thinking about this tends to upset my stomach. Is it still legal to take Pepto without a government-authorized prescription?

By and large, the politicans in Washington disgust me. If they all disappeared (and permanently) I couldn't imagine us being any worse off in the long run.

Now that it's the Kennedy memorial healthcare plan all bets are off ... even though his healthcare plan was way better than the one were going to be forced to use.

With the Kennedy memorial healthcare plan would we all get a free pass should a young female be found dead in our trunk?

JackW said...

Sorry Stan, I'm not sure that's helpful. There is no free pass now and that should cause us all to pause.

Ted Kennedy is dead so let us put these petty differences behind us and sign a healthcare reform bill in his honor! Oh yeah, and here's one for Cap & Trade. Oops, almost forgot the Freedom of Choice Act as well. Did I miss any? Yep, broadcast Fair Use bill thingy too...

Talk about capitalizing on someone's death.

And I thought the Michael Jackson fiasco was something.

Should have used exploiting rather than capitalizing.

My bad.

Hmmm...I don't know I've been kinda rethinking what I said. I went down the US Senate list and including the death of Sen. Kennedy and the fact that Byrd is hardly ever there (and the fact that he is uncomfortable with reconciliation anyway), by my count the democrats are 12 votes short of passing a healthcare "reform" bill through reconciliation. Many democrats in the Senate have expressed hesitation in pushing such a bill through the reconciliation process.

The fact that 84% of Americans are happy with their healthcare insurance should be irrelevant to the democrats especially since we live in a representative republic and it was the electorate's stupid fault for giving the democrats overwhelming majorities in the Congress.

President Bush disregarded public opinion polls and if the democrats had half the principle President Bush had, they would ignore public opinion polls. But I remember listening to a sermon Martin Lloyd-Jones preached on common grace. And that one of the common graces of the Holy Spirit is public opinion. It's possible that the democrats crave power and public opinion and healthcare "reform" may indeed be dead. I'm just not going to hold my breath.

Common Grace?! Don't let the Gordon H. Clark people hear you say that!

Obsessive banned stalkertroll OSO performed another act of cyber-rape just to underscore how much we don't want a grim, humorless army of self-righteous bureaucrats, armed with courts and the military, taking control and oversight of our lives.

It's a potent reminder and illustration.

Warning . . . watch RINO Republicans like Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain (and I'm surprised to add) Charles Grassley very closely. Word on the street is that a "compromise" is in the works, which in essence means that these GOP wafflers will end up helping the Democrats get nearly everything they want.

Being the pessimist that I am, I predict that the healthcare will pass. I am glad that some bloggers and conservative people are optimistic and think the healthcare issue could be dead. I personally think there is an agenda bigger than just the healthcare and what Obama wants will just be steamrolled ahead despite opposition. We hardly ever watch tv but it was amazing how many commercials were pro-health care and pro-Harry Reid the other night. They have money and there are some really big people in the background who are going to make sure their agenda continues to be put in place. This seems to be their time. I do pray for mercy, but think that God is allowing judgement to descend on our country.

It may be time for Christians to investigate the idea of a revolution of some sort.

To quote Senator Jim Inhofe:

We're almost reaching a revolution in this country.
