Yep, we got the happy news from our DAOD and BSIL just this weekend. We're still grinning!

DJP said...

I also could have said

* Providence Cookie

or

* Blessing Cookie

...but "Calvin Cookie" just had a ring to it.

:^D

Congratulations.

You'll have to squeeze another line into your logo, or displace the cats.

Very sweet, Dan. Congratulations all around!

Oh, congratulations, Dan and Valerie! How wonderful!

DJP said...

Thanks; I'll share all your congrats with our dearly-loved Rachael and Kermit.

It was already being a happy weekend, and that just crowned it.

I got the same type of news just last week from my #1son. Due date is in April.

Grand news, but ...

... maybe you're ready to be a grandpa?

DJP said...

I'm very much looking forward to li'l Baby Allen.

What good news and what fun!

I'm a tiny bit jealous. Okay, I'm a more than a tiny bit jealous.

Awwww...congratulations! What will you be called?

DJP said...

Oh, do you mean "Granddad" or "Grandpa" or "Pop" or...?

Hunh. Haven't discussed that.

Complicated!

The Calvin Cookies never lie! Wait a minute buddy...what're ya trying to pull here?.... hmmm...will have to think about that one for a few...my sources say...ask again later...

Congrats to all though! What a happy occasion!

Yes, pops or papa or (as my son calls my dad) BOP!

DJP said...

That's a good point. There will be (A) what we pick, and (B) how the li'l tadpole says it.

Yes, and names like that have a way of sticking.

Congratulations again!

Oh, joy, joy, joy!! Congratulations to all of you!

Is Rachael feeling well?

DJP said, "That's a good point. There will be (A) what we pick, and (B) how the li'l tadpole says it."

er...you might want to be a little more proactive than that. My son couldn't say "grandma" correctly, so my mom ended up with "Bubba" It stuck and 18 years later that's still her name!

DJP said...

Not so much!

(c:

She and Valerie were comparing notes on "If you're just nauseated, it means ____; if you throw up, it means ____" (i.e. boy or girl).

Then there are the particular food-demands of each child. This one put in an order for a nice juicy pickle.

My Jonathan loved pepperoni pizza — like, every night! Josiah loved cheesecake.

Sweet. Very happy for you, Dan. :)

For me, first blank was girl, second blank was boy. For both, things remarkably improved after about week 15-16. Praying for her, as I'm sure many of us will!

Oh. How. Wonderful!!!!!

And I'm with Rabbit on the symptoms diagnosis. Three rounds of all-day ickiness for three solid months, but no actual technicolor yawning; three girls.

1. Congrats to you, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips--you're moving on up!! :D (Congrats to the younger Mr. and Mrs. Allen, too!) May you spoil the kid rotten and make his/her mom jealous (if that were possible)!!

2. She and Valerie were comparing notes on "If you're just nauseated, it means ____; if you throw up, it means ____" (i.e. boy or girl).

I have no personal experience as a mother, but I can tell you that I made my mom much more than just nauseated when I came into being. Rabbit's right about week 15/16 being the turning point, though. Hang in there, Mrs. Allen! (If the doctor permits, try some weak tea. It helps to relieve nausea.)

DJP said...

"Great-grandfather"! Not so fast! I'm still young!

ish

Aaron said...

yeah, well I meant great as in very good, but I'm sure you'll make an excellent great grandfather too.

And yes, I'm sure you still think you're young. We men suffer from delusions on that front.
