Very, very nicely done! This is a great update on that wonderful old song from (too long ago to say...people will know how OLD I am...). Thanks for sharing this one!

I hear this song in my head every time I drive through Daly City on the 280...it was one of my favorite sing-along songs back in the day {sigh}.

I have now passed that legacy to my kids, as we traveled through there, singing of course, last April; for some of them it was their first trip through the region!

Forgot to say, I grew up in the shadow of the little boxes, LOL. I always thought, as a kid, how amazing it was that there was a famous song written about a place so close to ME.

My Dad used to sing this song whenever we drove by Fort Drum. I guess the housing units made him think of it. I really love the design of the set and the concept of having people pop out of the clock, TV, etc. Not sure how it fits in to Biblical Christianity, though. Could it be read as a sort of Ecclesiastes type critique of the meaninglessness of life without God, where the main purpose is to fit in to some kind of stereotyped human notion of success?

So, Dan...

Are you a fan of WEEDS? They use this as their theme song.
