Monday music: "Hallelujah Chorus" popup choir

You've probably seen this already. I meant to save it for still closer to the Christmas season, but it's popped up already on half the pages on The Intrawebs.

So for the two of you who haven't....

(Thanks to reader Candy...and then a half-dozen others)

(Could have lived without knowing that the Philadelphia Gay Men's Choir sang this; there's bitter irony there)

I heard this on the Frank Pastore show some time ago...had no clue that these guys sang it. I thought it was cool because 1) I LOVE Handel's Messiah; and 2) I've been inside the Macy's (Wanamaker Building) before. (That eagle sculpture is the dead giveaway!)

I love these things. They choke me up every time.

I grew up near Philly, so we would go to the city for the Christmas display at Wanamaker's (now Macy's) and listen to the organ. It's an amazing instrument.

I have dim memories of going to this Wanamaker's as a kid around Christmastime.

Sooner or later, every tongue will confess... Regardless of what sins each of the performers was harboring, here's hoping the words of the song trigger a desire to seek the true source of hope and redemption
