Boy, "Legion" sounds d-u-m-b

From DarkHorizons:
...the thriller casts [Paul] Bettany as the archangel Michael, the only one standing between mankind and an apocalypse, after God loses faith in humanity.

Man's lone hope rests with a group of strangers who must deliver a baby they realize is Christ in his second coming.
I just, I... unngh! Where do you start?

How many times has that stupid theme been done? Dudes, dudes... step away from the bong. It's a Second Coming — it's not a reincarnation.

It isn't Jesus who needs to be born again.

Yikes.

Yup, where does one start with that. It seems to have gotten everything wrong from God losing faith in humanity, to angels going against God for the sake of human beings, to Jesus being re-incarnated.

Such things as God, and Christ are merely plot devices to the makers of such things. To them they might as well be making a movie about hobbits and elves....

In other news LA Daily News today gets the "Missing the point" award for giving Ben Steins movie "Expelled" a full page nice write up....in the faith section.

I have to agree with Laura! LOL!

However, it is sad to realize how subtle this kind of message is. It's like Led Zepplin and Stairway to Heaven: "There's always time to change the road you're on."

No, there isn't. Not always. Maybe not this time. And when the first seal is opened, no mere archangel is going to stand in the way.

But we keep telling people not to worry about it, someone will save you. There won't be a 'final judgment.'

Scary.

God (obviously not soverign) losing faith in humanity... some angel protecting mankind from a vengeful God? (rather than perfectly executing His will...?) Reincarnation = 2nd coming?

I personally blame the Church, and our collective disinterest in sound doctrine. We have been so fast-and-loose with doctrine, particularly concerning these allegedly-epic apocolyptic stories that the world is merely amplifying our errors.

If WE don't even hold some things sacred, how can we protest when the world doesn't either?
