Monday music: "Be Thou My Vision," various versions — for my Valerie

Today marks Valerie and my anniversary, and I'd marry her again in a heartbeat if she'd have me. This song is a favorite of hers and, therefore, a favorite of mine. We sang it yesterday at the end of the installation service, for that very reason.

Here's a Celtic-flavored version by Eden's Bridge (not much in the way of visual, sorry):

Now the audio of a live version from Alison Krauss:

Finally, in quite a style-change, audio of Phil Keaggy's version (this will be Valerie's least-favorite but hey — it's Keaggy):

Happy Anniversary! May you have many, many more anniversaries to celebrate. :) Congratulations again on the installation at CBC. This is one of our favorite songs too.

Happy anniversary.

I guarantee your version wasn't as fast as the version I sung last night. The drummer was mental. Sung it at our wedding and still love it.

LOL. My dearest just told me that the Phil Keaggy version is her favorite.

Just goes to show: I still have more to learn about that woman.

Looking forward to it!

Happy Anniversary!

This is also one of my all-time favorite hymns. As it happens, we sang it yesterday, too :-)

Happy anniversary to yall.
I love that hymn. Both the first two versions brought tears to my eyes. I love Keaggy but the simple versions of that song allow one to be grabbed by the words so much easier.
I don't know where to find it but Kemper Crabb had a beautiful version of the song on The Vigil album in the 80s. It would be a fitting addition to those you posted.
God bless yall down there in the swamp!

I love the Keaggy version with one caveat: either he mumbles, I'm losing my hearing, or he's pronouncing "thou" as "thy." Bugs me every time I hear that version...

Still a great song, though.

Yep, Chris, I heard that as well.
